Mobile Appointments
Our mobile appointment service is where it all started for us in 2012, and it’s just as straightforward now as it was then. All you need is an up-to-date (within the last 2 years) copy of your prescription, book your appointment, Lynn will come to you with a selection of brands, styles & budgets for you to look through and try on, once you’ve chosen your frame she’ll discuss lens options with you and that’s it. Your frame will then go to the lab next day and we’ll be in touch as soon it’s ready (varifocals can take 7-10 days & single vision can often be done in 24-48 hours) to arrange delivery or collection.
Showroom Appointments
The showroom is open Tuesday – Friday 9:30am till 5pm (later on Thursdays by appointment only) and 10am till 3pm on a Saturday at Abbey Mill Business Centre, Paisley. We have our full range of brands, styles & budgets on display here and regularly have up to 300 pairs of glasses & sunglasses on the shelves.
Testing
Testing isn’t a service we currently provide, (which is why we ask you to bring along your prescription to your appointments) but who knows what will happen in the future.
Kids Clinic
We’re regularly asked if we can supply children’s glasses & accept kids NHS vouchers and we’re delighted to announce that we can, this service is not available as part of our mobile service and all kid’s appointments must be conducted at our showroom by our optometrist.
NHS Vouchers
We accept NHS vouchers for adults & children. We also accept workplace vouchers and can provide fully itemised receipts per private healthcare provider regulations.
Glazing
We’re regularly asked “Do you do varifocals ?”, “Can you thin lenses down ?”, “Do you do transition lenses ?” – and the answer is always the same – we can do everything a High St Opticians does (except break the bank).
Reglazing
If you have a frame that you’re fond of or don’t have the budget for a new frame & lenses we can reglaze an existing frame with a new prescription with no charge other than the new lenses.
Repairs
- In House
We can repair most minor issues such as sides & nose pads, realign & adjust frames and replace missing screws (regardless of where you bought them). These repairs can all be done in our showroom in Abbey Mill Business Centre, Paisley at no charge.
- Specialist
For more major issues we can send frames out for repair including repairing spring hinges, replacing lenses, and soldering, the charge for these repairs depends on the extent of the repair.
- Sunglasses
If you have sunglasses or glasses from any of the brands we carry – Ray-Ban, Ray-Ban Ferrari, Oakley, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, Prada, Prada Linea Rossa, Persol, Tiffany, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ralph by Ralph Lauren, and Vogue – we can order & replace new lenses, new sides, missing screws & cases, again with no charge other than for the parts themselves.
Events & Workplaces
We are regularly invited along to events & workplaces (RBS Mortgage Centre, B.A.D Battle Against Dementia Charity Golf Day, Combat Cancer) to set up for guests & employees – bringing along our extensive collection of glasses & sunglasses – we can complete appointments on the day (if they bring their prescriptions) or can arrange appointments for a later date.
